Текст песни "Slim Dusty — Nulla Creek"
They’re catching no more perch in old Nulla Nulla Creek
The water’s shallow now, where it used to be so deep
An’ when the flood is rushing down from the valley head so high
It spreads across the flat now, where it once went racing by
No use goin’ back to the quiet fishing hole
Where I used to catch big catfish where the season kurrajong pole
And the old man eels lay hidden in the willow sheltered bed
Now the creek bed shallows silted up tell me where it all will end
Oh the banks are high and shady
And the water still is sweet
But they’re catching no more perch
In old Nulla Nulla creek
Instrumental
They’re catching no more perch in old Nulla Nulla Creek
All the native trees are fallin’ from the valley walls so steep
And the stands of giant cedar were all taken years ago
And the glory of the mountain ash sent crashing down below
Mountain rains run down from the hills so old and bare
Their buried deep below the sandy creek bed growin’ there
And there’s no more timber forests for the likes of us to keep
And there’s no more perch for me to catch in old Nulla Nulla creek
Oh the banks are high and shady
And the water still is sweet
But they’re catching no more perch
In old Nulla Nulla creek
But they’re catching no more perch
In old Nulla Nulla creek.
