Текст песни "Morten Harket — Children First (2005)"
Somewhere in the world
In the starry night
There's a boy or girl
Whispering good night
And wondering what tomorrow brings
Will they play out in the sun
Climb the highest tree
Walk up on the moon
Ever grow to be
That special someone of their dreams
Teacher, tailor, preacher or sailor
Doctor, dancer, referee,
Nurse or baker, candle stick maker
There's so many things to be
Wish I may, wish I might
Have a wish, I wish tonight
First of all
Here on Earth
We've been just
The children first
Every daughter and son
Is a child of their own
And the world that we make
They call their home
In a world of war
Life is never fair
To a frighten child
Crying in despair
Afraid of what tomorrow brings
Will they live to see a day
Filled with love and joy
Food enough to eat
Every girl and boy
And grow to be the special one
Teacher, tailor, preacher or sailor
Doctor, dancer, referee,
Nurse or baker, candle stick maker
There's so many things to be
Wish I may, wish I might
Have a wish, I wish tonight
First of all
Here on Earth
We've been just
The children first
Every minute every day
We are throwing life away
There's a shadow in our heart
That is tearing us apart
And our children born in fears
See their childness disappears
Lost forever
If we all could see
Through the children's eyes
Strange as it might seem
We might realise
How beautiful this world could be
Imagine laughter in the air
Love in every heart
Sun where every child
This could be the start
Of our own heaven here on Earth
Teacher, tailor, preacher or sailor
Doctor, dancer, referee,
Nurse or baker, candle stick maker
There's so many things to be
Wish I may, wish I might
Have a wish, I wish tonight
First of all
Here on Earth
We have just been
The children first
If this world is to last
Then we've got to think children first
In the seeds of our hope for peace tomorrow
Teacher, tailor, preacher or sailor
Doctor, dancer, referee,
Nurse or baker, candle stick maker
There's so many things to be
Wish I may, wish I might
Have one wish here tonight
This is what we want for
Free to be just you and me
